Description We are working with an established client in south Denver to staff a role as a project accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and construction industry regulations. Responsibilities: + Set up initial project budget and regular monitoring of project financial performance. + Prepare and submit construction progress draw requests. + Track project costs and compare actual costs with budgeted costs. + Review and approve project-related bills, reconciling with subcontractor and supplier invoices. + Maintain job costing reports and perform cost variance analysis. + Ensure accurate and timely billing of project work. + Collaborate with project managers to formulate project forecasts and profit analyses. + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. + Assist with month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Requirements + A minimum of 3-5 years experience in construction accounting with a focus on job cost accounting. + In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and construction industry financial practices. + Proficiency in MS Office and construction accounting software. + Strong analytical, numerical skills, and attention to detail. + Advanced knowledge of construction project management and job cost accounting. + The ability to work closely with project management and operations teams.
