Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in the government sector in DeSoto, Texas, 75115-3939, United States. We are in need of an Accounting Clerk who is skilled in various aspects of accounting, from journal entries to accounts payable. Responsibilities: • Assist with filing and data entry tasks to maintain organized accounting records. • Handle spreadsheets with meticulous attention to detail. • Execute basic accounting tasks with a particular focus on journal entries to balance credits and debits. • Communicate effectively within the Finance department teams to ensure smooth operations. • Deal with Accounts Payable tasks, ensuring all financial obligations are tracked and addressed. • Utilize familiarity with Accounts Receivable, Aged Receivables to manage and track incoming payments. • Prepare Journal Entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and balanced. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor communications. • Demonstrated knowledge in managing Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoice generation, payment collection, and customer contact. • Experience with Aged Receivables, including tracking, reporting, and resolving overdue payments. • Ability to record Journal Entries accurately, ensuring all financial transactions are correctly reflected in the general ledger. • Understanding of Journal Entry concepts, with the ability to explain and interpret financial transactions. • Skilled in Journal Entry Preparation, including compiling, verifying, and entering financial data into accounting software.
