Description We are in search of an Accounting Clerk to join our team in the tax accounting sector based in Charlottesville, Virginia. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be tasked with managing customer documents, ensuring precise customer data, and addressing customer queries. You will also be in charge of supervising customer accounts and taking suitable action. This role offers a contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Handle customer tax applications with precision and promptness • Keep up-to-date records of customer tax information • Resolve customer inquiries regarding tax/accounting issues • Monitor and manage customer accounts effectively • Utilize Drake Tax Software for processing Individual Tax Returns • Perform bookkeeping tasks as required • Ensure timely action is taken on customer accounts when needed • Assist in training new team members on tax software and processes • Collaborate with the team to improve tax/accounting procedures. Requirements • Proficiency in Drake Tax Software is expected • Demonstrable experience with Individual Tax Return processing is necessary • Must possess strong Bookkeeping skills • A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is required • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software • Proficiency in English and in Office Suite • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
