Accounting Clerk
Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity in the government sector, specifically for the role of an Accounting Clerk, based in BEREA, Ohio. The workplace environment requires you to be highly organized and detail-oriented, with the primary function being the accurate and efficient processing of customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. Responsibilities: • Operate a computer and other electronic equipment to enter, research, and retrieve data regarding customer accounts. • Provide assistance and informational services to customers and the general public, by phone, in writing, electronically, or in person. • Keep track of customer credit records and monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when needed. • Prepare correspondence to customers for delinquent invoices or other necessary business reasons. • Handle transactions related to payments, ensuring the accuracy of the process. • Review and invoice customers, electronically and/or in paper format. • Work under pressure, with frequent interruptions, while maintaining accuracy in mathematical computations, recognizing errors, and making necessary corrections. • Ability to identify relevant customer details such as license plate number and state codes, plate type, vehicle type, and any plate number prefix and suffixes where applicable. • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor or Manager. Requirements • Demonstrable experience with debits and credits within a financial environment. • Proven experience in a call center customer service role. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries and complaints effectively. • Experience handling credit card charges, deposits, and payments. • Proficiency in credit card reconciliation and experience dealing with various credit cards. • Ability to process credit card transactions accurately and efficiently. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze trends in financial data. • Experience with updating and maintaining financial documentation.
