Accounting Clerk
Description We are in the market for a thorough and meticulous Accounting Clerk/Jr. Accountant to join our team in the Financial Services industry in San Mateo, California. As an Accounting Clerk/Jr. Accountant, you will be tasked with the management of customer credit applications, ensuring the accuracy of customer credit records, and resolving any queries that customers may have. You will also be expected to monitor customer accounts and take the necessary action when required. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities • Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications • Ensure customer credit records are up to date and accurate • Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to policies in collaboration with Service Teams • Obtain commission statements by reaching out to carriers/service teams • Manage the entry of direct bill commission for direct bill policies • Oversee the resolution of unallocated direct bill commissions • Handle the posting of cash receipts for payments received from carriers and clients • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned • Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks, including the use of formulas, VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables • Maintain and manage Accounts Payable (AP) tasks efficiently. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the Financial Services industry. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is a mandatory requirement for this position. • Candidate must be highly skilled in using Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting. • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work is crucial for this role. • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities are essential. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines is required. • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are important for coordinating with other departments. • Familiarity with other accounting software would be considered an asset. • The candidate should demonstrate a high level of integrity and adhere to all financial regulations and standards.
