Accounting Clerk
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the local government sector located in Youngstown, Ohio. This role will involve supporting a tax collections project, dealing with customer payments, and ensuring smooth internal workflows. Responsibilities: • Handle and process various forms of customer payments including cash, checks, and credit/debit • Contribute to tax collection efforts by processing, recording, and managing payments, ensuring they are in compliance with government regulations • Provide detail-oriented assistance to residents through phone, email, and in-person interactions, answering tax inquiries and providing updates on payment status • Respond to incoming phone calls, direct inquiries to the right department or personnel, and maintain accurate records of customer interactions • Carry out basic office tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and documentation organization • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth workflows and timely resolution of customer concerns • Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP to effectively carry out duties. Requirements • Applicant must have proficiency in Account Reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records. • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required. • The candidate should have a strong background in Billing processes and procedures. • Ability to perform Data Entry tasks efficiently and accurately is essential. • Experience in Invoice Processing is required to manage company expenses effectively. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary for data analysis and financial reporting. • Familiarity with Oracle software is preferred for financial management tasks. • QuickBooks proficiency is needed for managing and tracking company financial transactions. • Knowledge of SAP is beneficial for efficient financial operations and reporting.
