Grants Accounting Coordinator | Hybrid in Washington, DC | 3-month contract Job Description We are seeking an experienced Accounting Coordinator to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data entry, accounting, and administrative tasks, with proficiency in Sage Intacct and Excel. This role offers the opportunity for contract-to-permanent placement with growth potential within the accounting department. Responsibilities + Prepare, compile, enter, and sort documents for data entry in Sage Intacct + Check source documents for accuracy + Verify and correct data where necessary + Obtain further information for incomplete documents + Update data and files + Combine and rearrange data from source documents when required Essential Skills + Proven data entry work experience as a Data Entry Operator or Office Clerk + Experience with Sage Intacct budget entry + Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (advanced functions and pivot tables) + Attention to detail working with large spreadsheets without supervision + Ability to multi-task + Familiarity with administrative duties + Typing speed and accuracy + Excellent knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation + Organizational skills with the ability to stay focused on assigned tasks + Confidentiality + Ability to work independently and as part of a team Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma + Additional certification or degree in Accounting/Finance + Experience in grant management is preferable Work Environment This role reports to the Director of Grants and Contracts and the Controller. You will be part of a collaborative finance team. The position requires one day onsite at the office, typically on Wednesday or Thursday. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
