Waste Connections is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive **Accounting Clerk** to join our team.in **Pinellas Hauling Clearwater, FL** . This role will primarily focus on **Accounts Receivable (AR)** processes, including posting customer payments, managing collections, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer communications and be proficient in Excel. Familiarity with **Trux** and **Waste Works** programs is a significant advantage. Monday-Friday typically work from 8:00am to 5:00pm. **POSITION SUMMARY:** • **Accounts Receivable:** • Post customer payments via checks and various bank downloads. • Accurately record transactions and reconcile accounts as needed. • **Collections:** • Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances. • Contact customers by phone and email to resolve past due accounts. • Send out past due and collection notices in a timely manner. • **Record Maintenance:** • Maintain accurate and organized AR records. • Assist with preparing AR reports and supporting documentation as required. • **Collaboration:** • Work closely with internal teams to address customer payment inquiries or discrepancies. • Support other accounting functions as needed. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred. • **Experience in AR, collections, or general accounting is required.** • **Proficiency in Microsoft Excel** is essential. • Experience with **Trux** and **Waste Works** is a plus. • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to handle sensitive customer interactions professionally and with discretion. **Work Environment** **:** This position offers a collaborative and supportive work environment with opportunities to enhance your accounting skills while contributing to the financial health of our organization. **WHAT WE OFFER:** + Competitive pay!! + Excellent benefits including: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, long term disability, life insurance, 401K retirement and unlimited opportunities to “Connect with Your Future”. + Veterans are encourage to apply.
