Accounting Clerk III - Financial Analyst

**Purpose:** Manages multiple accounting functions, including responsibility for preparation and issuance of reports and statistics reflecting financial results. As well as administer approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Manages staff in one or more accounting areas.
+ Tests, installs, modifies and maintains accounting systems.
+ Manages the proper distribution of charges to all accounts and contracts.
+ Responsible for the preparation and issuance of financial statements, tax reports and other internal and external reports as required.
+ Manages the proper distribution of charges to all accounts and contracts.
+ Interfaces with MIS departments and other internal departments supporting financial systems.
+ Interfaces with government, corporate and private auditors on a regular basis.
+ Makes modifications to existing procedures or systems as necessary.
+ Position may require travel.
+ Perform all related duties as assigned.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting is highly preferred; four years of additional work experience may be considered in lieu of college degree.
**Experience:**
+ Minimum 5 years of job-related experience is required.
+ Has a knowledge base which is recognized as "expert" level within the Finance unit. Is well-versed in the interrelationship between work units. Has breadth of knowledge about business in general, the industry and the company's services.
**Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
+ Advanced written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
+ Must have excellent computer, interpersonal, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills.
+ Must be customer service focused.
+ Must have intermediate knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation and have advanced math skills.
+ Must be able to work efficiently alone and as a team member.
+ Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment.
+ Knowledge of Costpoint, OnPoint and Cognos programs a plus.
**Certification, License & Clearance:**
+ Tier 1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:**
+ Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
+ Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
+ Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
