Accounting Consultant (HYBRID)
Job Title: Accounting Project Manager Job Description The Accounting Project Manager will be responsible for evaluating, reviewing, and performing expense accruals at month-end to ensure company expenses are properly recorded according to GAAP. This role involves project setup, reviewing reconciliations of large volume general ledger accounts, and supporting the self-distribution project rollout for the accounting group. The position requires collaborating with multiple business users to define project requirements, performing system testing from an accounting perspective, and acting as a liaison for handling inventory adjustment exceptions. The ideal candidate will quickly identify and solve problems that arise during projects, demonstrate the ability to apply accounting principles to analyze and prepare financial information, and participate in project design meetings to propose necessary improvements. Responsibilities + Evaluate, review, and perform expense accruals at month-end according to GAAP. + Work on project setup and review reconciliation of large volume general ledger accounts. + Support the self-distribution project rollout for the accounting group. + Collaborate with multiple business users to define project requirements. + Perform system testing from an accounting perspective. + Act as a liaison for handling inventory adjustment exceptions. + Identify and solve problems that arise during projects quickly. + Apply accounting principles to analyze and prepare financial information. + Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches, and develop solutions. + Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary. + Utilize Excel for spreadsheet preparation, data download/upload to streamline processes. + Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in accounting + 4-5 years of accounting-related experience + System implementation or project experience (a plus) + Public accounting experience (a plus) + CPA certification or CPA candidate is required + Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, accounting procedures, and internal control processes + Intermediate to advanced computer skills for report and spreadsheet production + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills + Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills + Ability to operate independently with minimal daily direction from the manager Work Environment The selection process includes two rounds of interviews. The first interview will be with a manager, and the second will be with the Director. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
