About the job
The JMP Finance team is looking for an Accounting Coordinator (Contractor). This individual will be responsible for assisting the Sr. Associate Accountant with administration of invoices to customers; including vendor setup registration, tax exemption filing process, and various other ad hoc requests for invoicing customers.
This contractor position is scheduled to end on September 30, 2025.
As an Accounting Coordinator, you may:
Assist with the administration and processing of timely customer invoices, vendor invoices, miscellaneous requests, and/or other accounting operations data entry.Organize and coordinates the JMP vendor setup process with all new and transitional customers who JMP invoices and JMP Global Operations.Organize and coordinate the US Tax Exemption process with customers and the Sr. Accountant to ensure proper approval, reapplication to invoices, and storage in the exemption certificate system.Perform data entry of accounting information and updates as needed by customers, such as updates to PO numbers on invoices, with great accuracy. Aid with the reconciliation of receivables.Monitor accounts/invoices for problems, errors, or delinquencies and resolves appropriately.Maintain accurate tracking spreadsheets, accounting records and compiles reports, as needed.Communicate with customers and vendors concerning invoices and payments, as well as any questions they may have.Perform internal and external reporting as required.Assist with month-end processes as required.Work with other departments or employees and ensure that finance guidelines are followed.Perform other duties, as assigned.May perform some entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks.Additional Responsibilities:
Identifies areas needing improvement and helps to implements processes and procedures to streamline operations and support best practices.Tests department computer and database systems, as needed for implementations. May create queries and reports using available programming languages that are used to monitor production data and troubleshoot data or system issues.May create documentation of processes and procedures to be used by both other team members and users outside of Finance or Accounting.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at once.Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.Excellent communication skills.Excellent data entry, adding machine, and number recognition skills.Excellent knowledge of company policies and procedures.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products and accounting systems and ability to leverage systems towards better performance.Must be able to perform complex problems, specifically around customer issue resolution.Some knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles.
