Job Title: Accounting Credit Manager
Full-time, On-Site Position: Alachua, FL
Job Summary:
The Accounting Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit management and accounts receivable functions within the organization. This role ensures that credit policies and procedures are followed to minimize risk and optimize cash flow. The Credit Manager works closely with accounting, sales, and project management to manage account receivables and credit risk while supporting business growth and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Credit Assessment and Approval:
+ Evaluate and approve or decline credit applications based on company policies and CFO guidance.
+ Review financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess creditworthiness.
+ Establish credit limits and terms for new and existing customers.
+ + Utilizing credit worthiness to determine down payment requirements for new or existing customers.
+ Risk Management:
+ Develop and implement credit policies to minimize bad debt risk.
+ Monitor and assess credit exposure.
+ Perform ongoing credit analysis and re-evaluation of customers based on changing financial situations.
+ + Evaluate credit exposure and make recommendations on bad debt accruals
+ Accounts Receivable Oversight:
+ Oversee accounts receivable collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
+ Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile accounts and resolve disputes.
+ Ensure timely billing and collections to maintain cash flow targets.
+ Recruits appropriate departments (sales, Ops, leadership, etc.) to support collections effort.
+ Team Management:
+ Supervise and mentor the collections team, providing guidance and performance evaluations.
+ Train staff in credit management policies and practices to ensure compliance.
+ Reporting and Analysis:
+ Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, credit risk, and key metrics.
+ Analyze credit data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
+ Collaborate with finance and senior management on strategies for optimizing credit management.
+ Customer Relations:
+ Maintain positive relationships with customers while managing credit risks.
+ Address customer queries regarding billing, accounts receivable and credit issues professionally and efficiently.
+ Work with sales and customer service teams to support customers’ financial needs.
+ Qualifications and Skills:
+ Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ Experience: 5+ years of experience in credit management, accounts receivable, or financial analysis, with supervisory experience preferred.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
