Why choose the Accounting Embark Program?
The Finance function oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.
Participants will serve in a full-time capacity on a team within the Accounting group during the 12-month program.
Within their role, participants will potentially support the organization in several of the following ways:
Review and analyze key account profitability and develop recommendations to improve profitability
Develop, analyze, and prepare reporting capabilities to support strategic initiatives
Complete financial reporting to support the business
Utilize technology to automate financial processes
Balance sheet reconciliation, research and resolution
Month-end close responsibilities consisting of journal entry preparation and product margin analysis
Other responsibilities include, monthly vendor contract compliance and reporting, completion of quarterly SEC report packages, and various other ad hoc assignments
Demonstrate knowledge of financial processes, accounting policies, systems, controls, and work streams
Accountabilities in this role:
Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks
Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity
Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes action to resolve
Applies judgment within defined parameters
Receives general guidance and may receive more detailed instruction on new projects
Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy
Qualifications:
For consideration in the Cardinal Health Embark Program, you must meet a combination of the following requirements:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field, preferred
Expected graduation of winter 2024 or spring 2025, preferred
Intermediate/advanced proficiency of Microsoft Excel, preferred
Previous internship experience, preferred
Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills
Participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service
Must have unlimited work authorization in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
