See more at: https://www.nhcc.edu/academics/degree-pathways/business-and-information-systems **Please come join us as an Accounting Faculty member and be part of this dynamic team.** **Responsibilities:** + Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching Accounting courses including financial accounting, managerial accounting, computerized accounting, and payroll accounting. + Experience with revision and development of instructional materials as well as knowledge of assessment of student outcomes is assumed. + Participation in discipline, division, and college matters through service on committees and attendance at regular meetings as well as continued professional development. + Dedication to excellence in teaching and have the desire to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. + Practice contemporary teaching strategies, including learner outcome assessments and online instruction. + Availability to teach classes on-campus and during daytime hours, in the evenings, on weekends, and online. + Continue the professionalism of an active scholar, participate in departmental and campus-wide matters to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. **Minimum Qualifications** _Education Requirement_ + Master's degree with a major in accounting, or + Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in accounting, or + Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a CPA or CMA certificate _Occupational Experience Requirement_ + Two (2) full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in accounting _Recency Requirement_ + One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field + The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years **Preferred Qualifications** + Two years of demonstrated recent experience teaching accounting courses at the community college level. + Three years of industry experience in accounting. + Working knowledge of the current versions of QuickBooks and Excel. + Working knowledge of multiple operating system environments, including Windows and Linux. + Excellent written and oral communication skills. + Demonstrated ability to educate adult learners, students of color, students with disabilities, and international students. + Working knowledge of contemporary online education delivery platforms, including configuration tools. **Qualified applicants are required to attach the following documents to their online applications:** + Cover letter of interest addressing your qualifications for this position. + Current curriculum vita or resume. + Transcripts: valid unofficial copies of your transcript showing the conferred/awarded date; your name and the academic institution’s name/logo are required. Entry-level range is $51,303 - $94,542 for a nine-month academic year, plus excellent benefits. Full-time, unlimited faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance (95% employer paid single premium or 90% employer paid family premium); life insurance; optional dental, short-and long-term disability and long-term care insurance; paid personal and sick leave; defined benefits and defined contribution (401(a) retirement plans); tuition waiver for employees and dependents; and optional 457 and 403(b) retirement savings plans. Under the collective bargaining agreement with the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF), new faculty to the system receive a salary placement based on education and related experience after a job offer is accepted. The maximum salary at hire is $94,542 per academic year, depending on education and experience.
