OverviewIGT's Fixed Assets department is a dynamic organization supporting multiple business functions including Fixed Assets, General Ledger and Lease Accounting. These functions require coordination with various IGT Accounting teams both domestically and internationally, which allows insight into IGT's multi-faceted manufacturing operation.
Successful candidates will work closely with the Fixed Assets team learning daily processes, such as asset creation, movements and retirements. Exposure to monthly reporting responsibilities include depreciation, cash flow, and reconciliations. This internship will provide the successful candidate context to business operations in a fast-paced team environment and build on established, as well as future educational experience.
Responsibilities Post journal entries into an integrated ERP system Apply accrual-based accounting and meet the requirements of regulated and publicly traded organizations Executed corporate policies Prepare semi-complex journal entries with proper accounting classifications Utilize analytical skills for managing complex general ledger accounts Perform G/L account reconciliations and maintenance Qualifications Sophomore standing at accredited university, preferably Accounting or Finance major Intermediate PC skills are preferred with an emphasis on Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and Access Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines Detail-oriented, self-motivated team player Ability to work 37.5 hours/week over the summer months and 20 hours/week during the academic semester Keys to Success• Building collaborative relationships
