Accounting Intern

Primary Purpose

To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment.  Fulfill all designated duties within each specialized area of operation for the duration of the internship. This program is intended to provide learning opportunities by working hands-on with mentors and completing assigned projects. The intern will work with the Property Accounting Team to learn about Mountaire’s capital project process and asset management post-creation. This hands-on experience will provide an understanding of financial documentation, workflow approvals, and asset auditing.

Primary Project Highlights

Familiarize self with relevant SOPs. Step through the capital expense requisition (CER) creation process. Learn how to enter CERs into DocuSign using proper criteria. Understand the process of post-DocuSign approval to asset creation in Project Costing. Conduct an audit of assets in service at Mountaire facilities.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Completes assigned tasks identified by department mentor. Attends semi-monthly seminar series. Completes and presents summer project presentation. Completes internship evaluations at weeks 5 and 10. Follows all company safety policies, standard operating procedure (SOP) regulations, as well as supports the Goal Zero mission statement.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. Attention to detail. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong communication skills. Valid Driver's license. Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
