Hourly base pay rate is $21.49 - $32.26/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Cox Family Office supports the personal, philanthropic, and business activities of the Cox family. We are a family-led organization, supporting multiple generations of the James M. Cox family.
Role Description:
The Accounting Intern will support the Cox Family Office Finance & Accounting Team with various accounting projects and tasks. The Finance & Accounting Team is a ten-member team of highly skilled professionals with a broad range of roles & responsibilities. The Accounting Intern will learn firsthand the responsibilities of an accountant and build knowledge by working with the team on operational tasks, as well as special projects.
Anticipated activities for the Accounting Intern include assistance with the following:
Bank reconciliations
Management of credit card expenses
Management of petty cash inventory
Accounts Payable and Invoice entry
Financial Statement audit
Preparing various Excel templates and workbooks
Month and quarter end close processes
Financial Statement preparation
Document download from legacy accounting system
Cross-functional projects
Educational Requirements:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration

Skills and Experience:
No finance or accounting experience necessary
Must demonstrate attention to detail in fast-paced working environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with teammates and others
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent problem-solving skills
Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
