Accounting Internship - 2025

The Audit and Quality Assurance Intern will be a full-time (40 hours/week) opportunity for 12 weeks from May to August. As part of the internship program, students will gain additional skills to prepare them for entering the job market, including interviewing, presentations, and performance evaluation to further enhance their experience. 

 

The tasks assigned will be at a level consistent with assignments given to starting four-year college graduates. The internship will conclude with a presentation on the project and summer experience to the LCS leadership team.  In addition, the intern will obtain an overall understanding and exposure to other teams and jobs at LCS.

The Role: 

This position will gain professional experience by working on the Audit, Technical Accounting, and Quality Assurance teams with hands-on application of Accounting principles in a fast-paced work environment.  The tasks assigned will be at a level consistent with assignments given to starting four-year college graduates.  The focus of this internship will be on assisting the individual to obtain an overall understanding and exposure to general ledger accounting under GAAP, financial statement audits, and special accounting projects and initiatives using various software models and tools. 

 

Experience: 

Minimum 2 years completed towards bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. Experience and skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Flexible and able to handle changing priorities in fast paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a team environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

 

Knowledge & Skills:

Provide support to the accounting team members with preparation of journal entries, supporting monthly closing functions and general ledger reconciliations.  Assist in preparing schedules, and tracking documents for community accounting records and cash management.  Provides daily support, and Coordinates with community staff (Accounting and Finance Directors and other business office staff)  Research special requests, and other project needs. Support documentation, process, and system needs for communities.

Estimated Salary Range: $21.00/hr 

 

The actual title and salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
