Description Robert Half is partnering with a Christian non-profit located in south Denver to staff a role as an Accounting Lead. The Accounting Lead will be responsible for the following;
Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Management:
Lead all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, grant accounting, and financial reporting.
Prepare and review accurate, timely, and transparent monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP for nonprofits.
Manage the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and work with leadership to monitor financial performance.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and nonprofit-specific financial standards, including maintaining tax-exempt status and filing Form 990.
Oversee external audits, preparing schedules and supporting documents and implementing recommendations as needed.
Grant & Fund Management:
Manage the financial aspects of restricted and unrestricted grants, including tracking, reporting, and compliance with funder requirements.
Implement and maintain systems for tracking donor-restricted funds, ensuring accurate allocation and usage.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with program and fundraising teams to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
Partner with external stakeholders such as funders, auditors, and board members to maintain strong financial relationships.
Process Improvement:
Evaluate and enhance accounting processes and internal controls to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure proper integration of nonprofit financial systems with broader organizational operations.
If you have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and at least 5 years of experience in full cycle accounting including management, please apply.
