Accounting Manager – Commodity Risk Management (Onsite)

SUMMARY:

This position operates within the Commodity Risk Management department of Corporate Accounting. Responsibilities include publishing complete, accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s derivative activity with a primary focus on the company’s commodity and FX hedging strategies and activity. This position will work closely with the Front Office trading team, Mid-Office monitoring function, business Finance leadership and other international Tyson entities regarding financial hedge activities. Commodity Risk Management Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing detailed review of month-end journal entries, reporting, and analytical reviews. Other essential duties include working closely with our External Financial Reporting team to produce the quarterly schedules used in disclosing financial hedge activity in the Company’s quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K filings. This position will also contribute to the identification and execution of projects aimed to standardize, simplify and modernize processes and deliverable's associated with accounting and reporting for derivative activity.

A team member who is successful in this role must have good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Team member should have an affinity for monitoring commodity and foreign exchange markets and associated macroeconomic events. Team members in Commodity Risk Management have a strong desire to understand enterprise commodity and foreign exchange pricing risk.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of related experience preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP and Microsoft Power BI preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Basic understanding of US GAAP. Certified Public Accountant license or eligible to sit for CPA exam, preferred, but not required. Strong team-oriented skills as well as a high level of self-motivation in working independently. Ability to work with a diverse group of people across various levels, functions, and locations.

SUPERVISORY: Project-based

TRAVEL: 1 or fewer domestic trips per year
