We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to work alongside other members of our accounting team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of government contracting regulations (FAR, CAS, DFARS), financial reporting, and compliance, along with management of accounting teams and systems. This role will work closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, support strategic decisions-making, and ensure adherence to all relevant government requirements. Potential for hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:Lead month-end close, prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Manage the timely resolution of variances and discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.Lead and manage a team of accountants by assigning tasks, reviewing work, providing training, and evaluating performance.Assist with data collection for audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documents.Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.Ensure adherence to all applicable accounting regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.Perform other accounting and finance duties as required.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent number of years of experience, plus five years of accounting experience, and two years of management experience.Proven experience in managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions in a multi-project environment.Experience with Deltek Costpoint 8.2 and Unanet Subcontractor ManagementGovernment Contracting experience.Expertise in use of Microsoft ExcelStrong attention to detail and excellent accounting skillsAbility to communicate effectively with internal customers and external auditorsAbility to manage multiple projects across different business lines and cost centersDeadline driven and ability to plan ahead to ensure deadlines are metStrong interpersonal skills and self-motivated
