Accounting Manager

Position Overview:

We are in need of an Accounting Manager who will be an integral part of our Accounting department. The Accounting Manager will work directly with our Controller and CFO to aide in financial reporting and technical accounting projects. As well, they will oversee day-to-day operations of 6 accounting employees to ensure timely and quality processes within full-cycle accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have a mix of public accounting and construction accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of the company's accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow managementOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesDevelop and maintain financial models to analyze and forecast company performanceCreate and manage annual operating budgets and monitor variancesPrepare and review journal entries and general ledger reconciliationsEnsure compliance with GAAP and other accounting regulationsManage and mentor a team of accounting professionalsCoordinate with external auditors to complete annual auditsImplement and maintain project management processes to track financial performance of construction projectsWork with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve accounting processes and proceduresQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting and/or construction accounting (with 2+ years in a managerial role)CPA certification is preferred but not neededStrong knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting processesExperience with JD Edwards, Microsoft Excel, AIA billing, certified payroll, and job costingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExperience with project management processes is a plusThorough understanding of GAAP and other accounting regulationsExperience with internal audit is preferred
