Accounting Manager
Job Title : Accounting Manager Location : Newington, CT, US Responsibilities + Responsible for the month-end closing entries. + Manage all bank reconciliations. + Collaborate with the Staff Accountant to prepare and review monthly general ledger reconciliations for CRI and Outreach. + Supervise Accounts Payable staff and check AP batches. + Oversee the upload of escrow deposits on a monthly basis. + Assist in the preparation of the OP-Plan, COR, and Cost Reports, and submit them for review. + Review the recording of all fixed assets and their applicable depreciation. + Assist with the year-end audit. + Review monthly payroll reconciliations for both companies and submit them for review. + Assist with the preparation and documentation of Finance Department operating procedures. + Drive process improvement within the Finance Department, automating as many manual processes as possible. + Ensure monthly attendance is tied to revenue entry and create a MIP upload. + Ensure Individuals’ Funds audits are up to date. + Assist the CFO with any state reporting requirements, including external audit requests. + Prepare timely and accurate month-end reports, including bank reconciliations and other assigned reports. + Supervise Staff Accountants. + Manage Consultants’ contracts. + Perform other job requirements as needed. Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field within the Financial sector. + 5 years of experience in the accounting field and 5 years of supervisory experience, or 10 years of equivalent experience. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience creating and utilizing various spreadsheets. + Knowledge of MIP Accounting software is a plus. + Strong analytical skills and the ability to take initiative on projects. + High level of confidentiality when dealing with various aspects of the position.
