Nexus-Woodbourne is seeking fiscally minded individual to join our that is well-versed in a multitude of accounting, budgeting and reporting processes.
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager provides fiscal and general business office management by directing and monitoring the assigned business unit’s accounting functions, budgeting processes, and required fiscal reporting/support to agency Finance Director and the organization’s Home Office.
Starting pay range at $85,000 - $95,000!
Primary responsibilities:
Fiscal Strategy
Ensures the fiscal integrity of the agency by managing all financial, accounting and business office functions under the direction of the Finance Director. Provides consultation and guidance regarding the assigned business unit’s financial issues and/or inquiries to agency staff and Finance Director. Manages the accounting/financial function of the assigned business unit and ensures appropriate reporting to staff, as well as the home office. Collaborates with the organizational leadership in the financial evaluation of growth opportunities and program expansions. Plans, prioritizes, organizes and problem solves to effectively manage multiple projects and activities; responds to change in a flexible manger to meet the needs of the position, accounting department and business. Provides consultation and guidance regarding agency financial issues. Collaborates with the executive director, finance director, and the home office in the review processes of all internal and external contracts and/or agreements.Fiscal Leadership
Builds an effective team through team building, communication, setting clear direction and expectations, outlining common goals and promoting shared accountability for clear and definitive outcomes and goals. Collaborates with the home office, executive director, finance director, and department managers to develop the annual working budget for the agency. Supervises general purchasing processes for the agency and monitor/approve expenditures for all departments, within established guidelines. Leads the education processes of non-financial staff in understanding departmental finances and the budgeting process. Ensures effective and appropriate usage of computer equipment and technical resources, and site compliance with all related company policies and legal requirements.Agency, Financial Oversight
Participates in the selection, onboarding and training of assigned staff; lead, coaches and develops assigned staff and provides ongoing performance feedback including annual performance evaluations. Identifies areas of opportunity or risk that can inhibit team/staff development and facilities strategies to help achieve team goals; ensures responsibilities are covered when staff is absent. Understands and ensure compliance with licensing, governmental and other regulatory entities. Advances timely and accurate statistical reporting as required by state, federal or local agencies. Carries out compliance with funding source rules and regulations relative to accounting and financial functions. Provides consultation and guidance on compliance issues. Remains current on all company policies, assigned trainings and/or certification requirements; exhibits a high degree of ethical conduct, discretion and confidentiality while exemplifying professional behavior.Required Education and Licensure:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirementsPreferred Education and Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience. Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. Demonstrated competence with general ledger software preferred, and medical billing experience a plus. Non-profit accounting experience.ICARE Values & Behavioral Competencies:
