Accounting Manager
Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team in the non-profit sector in Lansing, Michigan. The Accounting Manager role involves managing our financial operations and ensuring our organization's financial health. You will be working directly with the finance department to carry out tasks related to accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. This Accounting Manager role is part time, 24 hours/week. Once trained, would require 1 day/week in office and other work could be completed remotely. Responsibilities: • Oversee the finance and accounts department to ensure smooth day-to-day operations • Analyze financial reports and highlight discrepancies that need senior management's attention • Manage the organization’s financial accounts to ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with applicable standards and legislation • Develop budgets in accordance with the needs of the department heads and the organization’s short and long term goals • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants • Monitor daily financial operations within the company including payroll, invoicing, and other transactions • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports to present to the board • Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies • Perform accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Billing Functions, Financial Statement Preparation, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, and Month End Close.
