Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Contract Accounting Manager with significant experience in non-profit and government accounting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge about non-profit accounting procedures, standards, federal and state financial regulations, and government audits.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
+ Monitor costs, expense reports and other business transactions in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
+ Collaborate with external auditors; be familiar with the entire audit process.
+ Ensure compliance with the government's regulations and standards.
+ Perform budgeting, financial forecasting, and tracking of financial metrics.
+ Conduct risk management for non-profit and government contracts.
+ Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions, if necessary.
+ Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liabilities.
+ Develop an internal audit program for the organization to ensure internal control.
+ Assist in shaping the organization's overall strategy and direction.
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent (Master's degree or CPA certification preferred).
+ A minimum of 5 years’ experience in non-profit or governmental accounting.
+ Extensive knowledge about non-profit accounting procedures, government financial regulations, and audits.
+ Proficient in accounting software and MS Office.
+ Excellent understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
+ Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department.
+ Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
+ Deadline oriented and strong analytical skills.
+ High attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
