Accounting Manager
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to work closely with various entities within our scope. The ideal candidate will manage month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and support various tax submissions. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and relevant entities.
+ Complete financial reporting and tax submissions.
+ Perform bank reconciliations and process improvements.
+ Analyze and reconcile accounts monthly.
+ Record inventory valuation adjustments per GAAP.
+ Manage fixed assets and depreciation.
+ Support retail rent management and landlord relations.
+ Reconcile GL accounts for taxation.
+ Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Sales Audit.
+ Process and analyze journal entries.
+ Prepare financial reporting schedules.
+ Develop and improve accounting processes.
+ Assist in audits and support the Assistant Controller.
Essential Skills
+ B.S. in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred but not required.
+ Minimum 5 years of related experience.
+ Working knowledge of SAP ERP (MUST)
+ In-depth experience with complex bank and accounting reconciliations.
+ Knowledge of Inventory and Fixed Asset Accounting.
+ Understanding of GAAP, specifically in a retail environment.
+ Advanced quantitative, analytical, and computer skills, especially in Excel.
+ Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking skills.
+ Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Work Environment
+ In Office position operating out on NYC
+ Long term consulting role to backfill a leave of absence
+ Working collaboratively with a team of Accountants supporting a large, multi-national retail brand.
