Position Summary

FBN is excited to a Technical Accounting Manager to the team. This individual will oversee accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves managing complex account reconciliations, supervising month-end and year-end close processes, and leading audit activities. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of US GAAP, and the ability to drive operational efficiency within the finance team.


Responsibilities: Complex Accounting Policy Implementation: Lead the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and providing guidance on complex technical accounting issues. Audit Liaison for Technical Matters: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting issues, addressing queries and ensuring accurate audit testing and documentation. Technical Accounting Research: Conduct in-depth research on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, inventory valuation, lease accounting, and business combinations. Draft and maintain accounting memos and whitepapers to document conclusions. Equity Compensation Accounting: Manage accounting for equity-based compensation, ensuring compliance with ASC 718, including valuation and reporting of stock options and other equity instruments. Internal Control Enhancements: Develop and maintain robust internal controls for technical accounting areas, ensuring compliance with SOX and audit readiness. Account Reconciliations: Supervise and review detailed reconciliations for all general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Month-End Close Procedures: Oversee and streamline month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Management and External Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to management and outside stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and insights. Process Documentation and Internal Controls: Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and internal controls, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements. Transfer Pricing: Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation in compliance with international regulations. Monitor intercompany transactions to ensure proper pricing and reporting. Software Capitalization: Manage the capitalization of software and other intangible assets, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and accurate financial reporting. Foreign Exchange Management: Oversee foreign exchange transactions and accounting, including the management of currency exposures and impact on financial statements. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function, implement best practices, and drive operational efficiencies.

Qualifications:

7+ years of accounting and/or audit experience with an inventory-manufacturing business, CPA strongly preferred, 4+ years in a Big 4/international accounting firm Strong, in-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SOX/internal controls, and financial statement preparation. Technical research skills, including experience with US GAAP and other accounting standards related to revenue recognition and inventory accounting, foreign exchange, and inter-company transactions Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to address complex accounting issues and propose actionable solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical memos and present findings to executive leadership. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting  Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with advanced Excel skills Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) is a plus To understand the physical demands of this job, please click this link and refer to Template B   The following represents FBN's reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $105,000-$130,000.
