Job Title: Accounting Manager

Reports To: Anthony Favalora, Controller

Job Overview: The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with the Controller to develop and maintain accurate accounting records and financial statements for Gendon and CCG. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and providing critical support for strategic decision-making across the organization.

An effective Accounting Manager will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at collaborating with all levels of the organization. This role involves supervising Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions and managing one direct report.

The position operates under our hybrid work model: you’ll collaborate in the office three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining days

Key Responsibilities in the Role:

Oversee accounting tasks including payables and receivables. Ensure integrity of accounting data, including setting and maintaining controls over GL structure.Banking management for vendors and complete check runs /wire transfers for approval.Complete monthly, quarterly and year end journal entries timely for corporate close. Prepare and maintain reliable account reconciliations for review and approval.Work with internal auditors as needed.Fill out monthly, quarterly and annual forms required by parent company.Provide support during the annual budgeting process, including measurement, reporting, and analysis as required.Work with other departments to develop and track key performance metrics. Understand business processes and products for financial analysis input.Prepare reports for payroll and bonuses.Review and ensure compliance with all Government Remittances, including HST, WSIB, EHT, and Corporate Tax installments. Canadian and US filings.Oversee and ensure the integrity of payroll, T4s, pension (MERP), ROEs, and Group Benefit Plan payments in collaboration with the HR ManagerOther ad hoc reporting as required

Key Competencies:

Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and other office applications.  Advanced excel formulations and macros for data management is an asset.Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skillsProven financial analysis and reporting skills with a strong eye for detailFamiliarity with multi-currency transactionsStrong understanding of business processes

Experience:

A University degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or work experience equivalentExperience with ERP systems preferably Sage X33-5 years experience. Manufacturing experience an assetADP experience an asset
