We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in Oakland, California. As an Accounting Manager, your role will encompass a variety of duties, including managing accounting functions, handling financial services, and utilizing different accounting software systems. You will play a crucial role in maintaining financial health and ensuring efficiency in our operations.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee the creation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP.
+ Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in the general ledger.
+ Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
+ Work with the finance team to create and monitor budgets and forecasts, offering insights on financial performance and trends.
+ Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
+ Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for annual audits.
+ Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoice processing and collections.
+ Monitor cash flow and offer recommendations to optimize working capital.
+ Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performance environment.
+ Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for improved efficiency.
+ Provide timely reports to the company’s external tax firm.
+ Oversee the payroll process, including payroll processing, pay changes, and benefits enrollment.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with 1 year in a management role preferred. Experience in the CPG industry is a plus.
+ Proficient in accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
+ Experience in inventory and cost accounting in manufacturing or retail is a plus.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
+ Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop a team and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
+ High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and integrity.
+ Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
