Accounting Manager
Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in LANSING, Michigan, United States. In this role, you will be expected to manage and oversee all aspects of our accounting department. This includes managing staff, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and implementing new software systems. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of month-end closing and financial reports • Directly supervise a team of accounting professionals • Implement new ERP systems and manage the transition process or familiarity • Use Timberline Software for various accounting tasks • Analyze financial statements and approve financial data • Provide financial presentations to senior management • Develop and coach team members, fostering a culture of accountability and trust • Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage and present data • Understand and apply basics of cost accounting, particularly in a construction context • Adjust journal entries as needed for accuracy and compliance. Requirements • Proven experience in Direct Supervision, with an emphasis on leading and motivating teams. Supervision is paramount for this role. • Proficiency in Timberline Software to manage accounting tasks efficiently. • Solid understanding of Construction Cost, with the ability to provide accurate estimates and manage budgets. • Demonstrated expertise in Month End Close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. • Skilled in Adjusting Journal Entries, with the ability to maintain accurate financial records. • Proficiency in Analyzing Financial Statements, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations. • Experience in creating and delivering Financial Presentations to stakeholders. • Strong Leadership Skills, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. • Experience in Implementation of new systems, processes, or policies within the accounting department. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of complex formulas, pivot tables, and various data analysis functions.
