Accounting Manager

Latitude is seeking an Accounting Manager in the NW, DC area! This would be a hybrid role with MTW on site and remote during the end of the week.
OverviewThe ideal candidate must have a strong property accounting background, have outstanding communication and writing skills, be attentive to details, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working well on a team.The Accounting Manager will provide leadership to the property-level accounting staff, will be one of the firm’s primary reviewers of property-level workpapers and will lead the accounting team on portfolio wide initiatives. The Accounting Manager will work collaboratively with the firm’s other Accounting Managers, Accounting Directors, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer.Responsibilities
•Provide leadership to and oversight of the property accounting staff•Review monthly and quarterly property level financial statements and supporting reconciliations and workpapers for operating properties•Portfolio wide close workpapers and trackers•Review schedules that support the property-level financial information and disclosures in the Company’s SEC filings including those on Form 10-K and Form 10-Q•Assist in the Company’s property-level budget process•Interact directly with other members of the Accounting Team, Asset Management Team, on-site and off-site property managers, external auditors, internal auditors and external tax return preparers•Assist with Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Program•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s degree and / or CPA preferred•Minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in accounting within a real estate environment•Strong command of real estate accounting concepts including purchase price allocations, straight line rent and leasing concepts under ASC 842•Ability to lead a team with direct oversight responsibilities•Effective problem-solving skills and sound judgement•Excellent written and verbal communication skills•Ability to function in a team-oriented setting and respond well to constructive criticism•Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with a high attention to detail•Tenacity toward meeting deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency and good self-management discipline•Ability to work accurately and efficiently•Strong ethical character and a sense of humor•Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with General Ledger software (preferably Yardi)
