Kforce has a client in Denver, CO that is seeking an Accounting Manager who will oversee the department's monthly close process as well as mentor/lead a team of five accounting professionals. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of leadership. This Accounting Manager will play an integral role in developing and documenting standardized accounting procedures and controls. Responsibilities: * Oversee Accounting Operations: Supervise, manage, and review all month-end accounting procedures, including reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing venue-level and overall department P&Ls, researching accounting variances, and preparing overhead journal entries/reconciliations * Financial Reporting: Review venue level financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness and compliance with GAAP and company policies/controls * Accounting Guidance: Provide accounting guidance and recommendations to team members as well as Divisional and Regional Senior Level Management * Internal Controls and Compliance: Assist with the implementation and adherence to internal controls and the Company's standard accounting procedures * Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff; Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback; Foster a positive and collaborative work environment * Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient accounting systems and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency * Audit Coordination: Assist with annual corporate audit and venue level audits to ensure that all necessary audit requests are prepared and provided in a timely manner * Ad hoc Reporting and Analysis: Provide financial analysis, research, and reports to support decision-making by senior management; Assist with special projects as needed
