Responsible for managing the lifecycle of fixed assets and leases in the company, including acquisitions, tracking, maintenance, depreciation, and disposal. This role involves ensuring that all fixed assets are accurately recorded and aligned with company policies, tax and legal requirements. The Fixed Assets Manager works closely with the finance team, engineering, internal auditors, and other departments to ensure compliance with accounting principles and industry standards.
Manage the lifecycle of fixed assets and leases, including acquisitions, tracking, maintenance, depreciation, and disposal.Ensure that all fixed assets are accurately recorded and aligned with company policies, tax and legal requirements.Collaborate with the finance team, engineering, internal auditors, and other departments to ensure compliance with accounting principles and industry standards.Maintain and update fixed asset schedules.Utilize fixed assets depreciation software to manage asset records.Develop and implement internal controls related to fixed assets.Prepare and present reports on fixed assets for various audiences.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in accounting.5+ years of relevant accounting experience.Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.Advanced proficiency in Excel.Strong accounting and analytical skills.Solid understanding of internal controls and GAAP.Additional Skills & QualificationsDemonstrated experience in PP&E accounting (property, plant, and equipment).Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations related to fixed assets and leases.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Ability to develop and leverage data to make quantitative and analytical business decisions.Strategic thinking and tactical execution abilities.Demonstrated leadership in a collaborative environment to influence change and core processes.High degree of business curiosity and a proactive, agile mindset.Optimistic outlook towards future opportunities for innovation and improvement.Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) for leading and presenting complex materials.Strong change management skills, aligning and bringing others along.Experience using an enterprise accounting system preferred.Work EnvironmentThis role is a functional manager position and does not involve managing personnel. The candidate must have expertise in fixed assets, which are a significant part of the balance sheet, and some assets may last up to 100 years, adding complexity to asset management. The work environment includes an office setting with minimal exposure to a manufacturing production mill environment that can be hot, dusty, humid, and noisy. Some mental, visual, and physical fatigue from computer terminal use is expected. The role requires some domestic travel up to 20% depending on the candidate's location.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
This position is eligible for an Annual Investment Plan that pays out in Q1 of every year. This amount will be pro-rated based on the time this individual starts.
