Accounting Manager
Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Description

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting accounting and financial reports. This includes interpreting transactions to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, analyzing financial results, drafting footnote disclosures, supporting ex-U.S. reporting, and preparing quarterly review materials. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and approving account reconciliations related to sales commissions, customer considerations, chargebacks, and cash discounts.

ResponsibilitiesInterpret transactions executed or proposed by the business to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including performing research and partnering with Technical Accounting to develop guidance.Analyze financial results and provide explanations to management for the movements of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow statements.Draft footnote disclosures and prepare detailed support for external reporting deliverables (10Q/10K).Support the ex-U.S. monthly and quarterly reporting.Prepare quarterly gross-to-net meeting review materials.Review and approve account reconciliations and associated analysis related to sales commissions, customer considerations, chargebacks, and cash discounts.Work with Finance and Operational teams in performing accounting tasks and monitoring the successful execution of Month End close activities, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations.Manage relationships within Finance (Financial Planning, Tax, Purchase to Pay, Treasury, Global Strategic Sourcing).Provide support for initiatives or projects by offering accounting guidance and identifying risks to internal controls.Support the documentation and testing of controls in support of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Certification and other control verification processes. Draft deficiency reports and drive implementation of remediation actions.Support Internal/External/Tax audits by providing timely backup, explaining transactions, and answering inquiries.Understand and interpret Policies and Procedures to provide guidance to stakeholders on proper application.Collaborate with process stakeholders to determine and implement continuous improvement opportunities for an efficient and effective accounting close process.Engage in gaining knowledge and deploying Automation and Reporting solutions (e.g. UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Anaplan, Tableau, Alteryx, MS Teams, Smartsheet, DocuSign) to reduce transactional work in favor of strategy and analysis.Manage special projects requiring Global Accounting representation, including company expansion, business acquisitions and divestitures, and financial system implementations.Partner closely with External Services vendors supporting accounting operations to complete close activities and deliver quality services.Engage in regular governance meetings to discuss status of activities, projects, and issue resolution. Monitor Service Level Metrics and manage expectations and deliverables.Assist with Legacy Horizon product integration and related gross-to-net transactions.Support the Sales Accounting team with the design, testing, and implementation of SAP 4Hana.Essential Skills5+ years of accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceProficient in usage of Microsoft Office ApplicationsComprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reportingStrong written, verbal communication, and presentation skillsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently, multi-task, and establish prioritiesAdditional Skills & QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA)Advanced knowledge of ExcelStrong project management and leadership skillsExperience with major ERP applications and platforms (SAP, Power BI, Hyperion, BW, Anaplan, etc.)General knowledge of automation initiativesGreat organizational skills and ability to meet deadlinesWork Environment

This position is fully remote with a possibility of extension past the initial 2 year contract length. The role supports the Global Sales Accounting Team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
