Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team in the Real Estate & Property industry, based in Woodland Hills, California. In this role, you'll be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, including processing financial information, managing financial records, and responding to related inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently manage the monthly financial reporting process for various property management companies.
• Review preliminary financial reports for accuracy, ensuring all sub-ledgers are correctly accounted for.
• Coordinate the review of entries for acquisitions, dispositions, and gains from sales.
• Manage the reconciliation of capital expense bank accounts and provide detailed reports to the property management companies.
• Verify that all operating and capital expense items have been coded correctly.
• Communicate any discrepancies in the financials to the Asset Manager and the Property Management Company.
• Manage the payment of business licenses, local state taxes, real estate and personal property taxes, and insurance premium renewals in a timely manner.
• Deliver accurate monthly financial statements to joint venture partners as per the schedule outlined in the joint venture agreement.
• Provide regular financial reporting to lenders, including debt covenant calculations and certifications to meet loan requirements.
• Update the corporate Asset Management Fee, Construction Management Fee and Accounting Fee schedules monthly.
• Support Asset Management and Portfolio Management in annual budget planning as required.
• Provide budget figures for partnership and other expenses as requested by Asset Management. Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years experience in an accounting managerial position within the Real Estate & Property industry
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
• Experience with commercial property accounting, billing, GL management
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary
• Must have experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Auditing experience is highly desirable
• Proficiency in Billing Functions is required
• Must have a strong background in Real Estate Accounting
• Proficiency in Yardi is mandatory
• Must have experience in Financial Statement Preparation
