Accounting Manager
ASM Global the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent opening for an Accounting Manager at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. The Accounting Manager performs professional level accounting work in the maintenance and review of financial records. The position requires considerable knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the general ledger, banking activities, bank reconciliations and fixed assets. Additional responsibilities include performing monthly journal entries to facilitate the month end close process, maintenance of computer system/financial applications, maintenance of accounting files, preparation/organization of various financial forms, reports, and financial analyses, general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, etc. This individual may be asked to assist with ad-hoc projects, preparing facility settlements, preparing budget reports, forecasts, and a variety of other financial reports and general office support tasks when necessary. These responsibilities and tasks will be coordinated with and supervised by the Director of Finance. Essential Duties Prepare and record various journal entries Review, process and record banking activities and manage online banking process Analyze Check Runs and Cash Flow Supervise and provide guidance to Staff Accountants in charge of AR and AP and Finance Coordinator Monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts including cash, receivables, fixed assets, intercompany balances, payables, deferrals, etc. Prepare monthly CAPEX, Marketing and other Intercompany Billings to Client and analyze and track available funds for projects Prepare monthly billings in accordance with facility management agreements, oversee and manage the A/R and collections process Monitor fixed asset activity in detail Preparation of monthly financial statements and various financial reporting. Liaise with Corporate Food Service provider financial team Work with outside auditors to complete the annual audit and issue audited financial statements Respond to customer, external and internal inquiries on a timely basis Prepare various reports and analyses for management Ensure department policies & procedures are followed Perform other accounting and general office duties as requested Qualifications Strong written, read and verbal communication skills both in English and Spanish Must have attention to detail Effective time management skills and strong organizational skills. Able to handle confidential matters Experience with complex computer systems and financial accounting systems Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of management Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet very tight deadlines Strong analytical and problem solving skills with great attention to detail and accuracy Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or 5 – 7 years of related work experience progressively increasing responsibility in a fast paced accounting/finance department Experience in facilities/arena management industry a major plus.
