Accounting Manager

Provation is seeking an ambitious and strategic-minded Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key leader within the accounting team, this highly visible, high-impact role will provide leadership on revenue accounting and operations, including review and guidance on customer contracts and deal design, month-end close and financial reporting, and ensuring policies are in alignment with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606. This person will work cross-functionality on strategic projects and be a leader in process and system enhancements to drive scalability across the accounting organization. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and communicator, a highly skilled accounting professional, and hungry to make an impact within a fast-paced, innovative company.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for leading the team to ensure complete, timely, and accurate recording of customer contracts and revenue recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and Sarbanes-Oxley
+ Provide guidance on processing orders based on executed customer contracts, ensuring transactions are processed accurately within Salesforce and NetSuite
+ Create collaborative cross functional relationships to proactively provide guidance on strategic revenue accounting items such as deal design, customer disputes, and data analysis that empowers the business to make strategic decisions and optimize financial results
+ Perform a key role in the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, reviewing revenue transactions, assisting in financial reporting, and completing variance analysis
+ Prepare and maintain memos and other support for the Company’s revenue recognition and commission policies
+ Proactively identify and execute on process and system enhancements to drive automation and efficiencies across the accounting organization
+ Participate in internal testing and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of SOX controls, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed
+ Partner closely with Customer Invoicing and Renewals team and Credit and Collections team to help drive a positive customer experience and to mitigate financial risk from customer contracts
+ Develop, coach, and mentor accounting staff
**Qualifications:**
+ Education/Certifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
+ CPA license (active or inactive)
+ Experience:
+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (mix of public and industry preferred)
+ 2+ years of management experience
+ Strong accounting knowledge with an understanding of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
+ Experience with ASC 606 – Revenue with Contracts from Customers is a plus
+ Prior experience with software and technology companies is a plus
+ Skills:
+ Strong learning agility required; ability to learn quickly and research and apply accounting standards
+ Strong leadership skills: ability to effectively develop and manage a team
+ Ability to apply strategic thinking with a results-driven mindset and articulate that vision to the team
+ Proven ability to take initiative and be proactive, with the desire to grow and learn
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally at various levels within a company
+ Systems:
+ Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 71,100.00 - 132,100.00
