Description Robert half is searching for a meticulous Accounting Manager for one of our clients located in western suburbs. The Accounting Manager will be tasked with handling customer applications, ensuring customer records are accurate, and resolving any customer inquiries. In addition, this role involves supervising customer accounts and taking relevant action when necessary. Responsibilities: • Accurately process and manage customer credit applications in a timely manner • Ensure customer credit records are up-to-date and accurate • Handle customer inquiries and provide appropriate solutions • Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action when required • Oversee general accounting functions, including the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes • Supervise accounts payable and travel/expense management operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies • Lead the weekly disbursement process, ensuring payments to vendors and other stakeholders are timely and accurate • Ensure compliance with unclaimed property reporting requirements and state-specific sales tax regulations • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial audits, tax filings, and other compliance-related activities • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on financial data and trends • Supervise and mentor a team, ensuring team objectives are met • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders • Stay current with industry regulations and best practices, applying them to the organization’s accounting operations. This position offers a salary range of $110,000-$120,000 and comes with a full benefit package including BCBS insurance, 3 weeks of vacation to start, lots of holidays, and a hybrid office set-up. Requirements • The candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting management role or similar capacity. • Proficiency in Month End Close procedures is required. • Ability to handle and process Expense Reports efficiently is necessary. • Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) processes is a must. • The applicant should have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and be capable of using it for various accounting tasks. • A strong understanding of GAAP Accounting principles is imperative. • Experience in managing Cash Disbursements effectively is necessary.
