Accounting Manager
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity outside of Frederick, Maryland for an Accounting Manager to join our client's team. In this role, you will oversee key financial reporting, balance sheet accounting, and reporting systems. This role requires close collaboration with senior leadership, external auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and disclosures. The Accounting Manager will also play a vital role in mentoring and guiding junior members of the accounting team. ey Responsibilities + Support the implementation of compliance initiatives related to financial reporting regulations. + Record journal entries as part of routine business operations when necessary. + Serve as a liaison during external audits by providing expertise and responses to audit inquiries. + Prepare and review financial statements and reports in alignment with U.S. GAAP on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. + Manage the external audit process, ensuring timely responses to auditors' requests and inquiries. + Monitor and maintain adherence to bank covenants and debt agreements. + Oversee balance sheet accounting, including account reconciliations, variance analysis, and ensuring proper controls and documentation. + Administer and enhance financial reporting systems such as management dashboards and tools, customizing reports as needed. + Mentor, supervise, and support junior accounting staff to maintain high performance and quality standards. + Research, document, and implement accounting policies and best practices. + Perform additional duties assigned by senior leadership. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA certification required. + A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance; experience within the manufacturing sector preferred. + Deep understanding of GAAP, accounting regulations, and applicable financial laws. + Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail in workpapers. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across organizational departments to understand reporting needs.
