We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Boart Longyear team in Salt Lake City, UT.
As the Accounting Manager - NAM, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations within North America, ensuring compliance with local regulations, company policies, and global standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and a collaborative mindset to work across different departments, geographies, and cultures within the organization. You will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and driving process improvements and leading the accounting teams in the United States and Canada.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesRegional Accounting Oversight:
Manage and oversee accounting operations for all entities within North America, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and consolidate regional financial reports, ensuring they meet deadlines and are accurate. Analyze financial data and provide insights to the Regional Controller.Compliance & Internal Controls:
Ensure all regional financial activities comply with statutory regulations, tax laws, and internal policies. Lead internal and external audits for the region and implement best practices for financial control.Team Management & Development:
Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development. Ensure timely completion of regional accounting tasks and projects.Budgeting & Forecasting:
Collaborate with local and regional leadership to support the budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing variances and making recommendations for improvements.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to understand the financial impact of key business decisions and provide proactive support to ensure financial goals are achieved.Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and systems within the region, implementing efficient and standardized procedures to enhance financial accuracy and reporting timeliness.QualificationsMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust have valid Driver’s LicenseFive + years of progressive accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in accounting is preferredCPA certification is preferredPublic accounting experience will be viewed favorably Three + years of experience in a leadership roleUnderstanding of multicurrency transactionsOracle R12 experience a plusExceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
