Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Houston, Texas. The role involves managing financial reporting and accounting operations in the oil and gas industry. This position will require you to lead a team of project controllers, oversee general ledgers, and establish accounting policies and procedures. Responsibilities: • Oversee the general ledger for multiple companies that consolidate to a larger entity. • Manage monthly close cycles, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. • Coordinate and manage internal and external audit support, ensuring audits are completed efficiently. • Oversee compliance with SOX controls related to financial reporting and fixed assets controls. • Establish and execute accounting policies and procedures in line with the industry's best practices. • Support technical accounting matters related to the Upstream business. • Oversee and report monthly financial results and analysis to Senior Management. • Supervise the fixed asset DDA and impairments assessments. • Lead a team of project controllers to ensure smooth accounting operations. • Apply your knowledge of Upstream, Technical Accounting, and Month End Close processes to your daily responsibilities. Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role • Proficiency in Upstream, Technical Accounting, and Month End Close is essential • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel is expected • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is crucial • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines is paramount • Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation is beneficial • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively is key • Experience in budget preparation and financial forecasting is preferred.
