Description
We are on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in ROCHESTER, New York. This role is vital for overseeing all our accounting needs and will also be the succession plan for our current accounting personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, cost accounting, financial reporting, cost control, cash flow management, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all accounting needs within the company.
• Conduct budgeting tasks to ensure financial efficiency.
• Perform cost accounting and job costing to track and analyze project expenses.
• Generate accurate financial reports for management decision-making.
• Implement cost control measures to maintain profitability.
• Manage cash flow to ensure the company's financial stability.
• Maintain and update the general ledger for accurate record-keeping.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing processes in a timely and accurate manner.
• Implement and manage accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online.
• Collaborate with other departments to implement system improvements.
Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager or Supervisor role
• Proficient in using Quickbooks Online for financial management
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial forecasting
• Proven ability in job cost accounting
• Strong knowledge in financial reporting and analysis
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is an advantage
• Excellent leadership skills to manage and motivate the accounting team
• Strong understanding of tax codes and laws
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
