Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the steel manufacturing industry based in DELTA, Ohio. This position is for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor who will be responsible for supporting various aspects of our accounting operations. You will be working in a dynamic environment, managing financial accuracy, supervising payroll and general accounting teams, and driving coordination across departments for internal and external audits. Responsibilities: • Oversee most aspects of accounting management, including billing, tax forms, and reporting. • Assist in developing internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices. • Assist in the preparation of financial statements following official guidelines and requirements. • Ensure the financial accuracy of journal entries, invoices, etc. • Prepare or review balance sheet reconciliations monthly. • Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts. • Supervise payroll and general accounting teams. • Coordinate across multiple departments for internal and external audits. • Assist in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies. • Assist in the documentation and implementation of new accounting standards. • Identify opportunities for key process automation using tools like ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, Power BI, etc. • Drive efficiencies and consistencies within Blackline (reconciliation software). • Provide assistance in documenting current and future state workflows for new ERP implementation to identify process efficiencies. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar accounting management or supervisory role within the steel manufacturing industry • Proficient in using ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems for managing business processes • Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with accounting functions including auditing • Must hold a valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license • Proven experience in supervisory management, demonstrating the ability to lead and manage a team effectively • Proficiency in using MS Great Plains Dynamics for business management solutions • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including using complex formulas and creating detailed financial reports • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and foster a positive working environment.
