Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in Santa Barbara, California, for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team. The selected individual will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our operations and contributing to the financial success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing financial management, which includes budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Managing the organization's cash flow, investments, and banking relationships.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervising daily accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Reviewing and reconciling general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
• Participating in and providing support for annual fundraising activities.
• Overseeing and ensuring quality in MediCal billing and accounting.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for various stakeholders.
• Analyzing financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Coordinating with external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers for annual audits and tax filings.
• Assisting in the development of annual operating budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
• Monitoring grant budgets and tracking budget line-item variance.
• Working closely with grants administration and program directors to align financial resources with organizational goals.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation in accounting operations.
• Implementing and maintaining financial systems, software, and tools to support organizational growth.
• Providing training and support to staff members on accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and government reporting.
• Implementing, monitoring, and updating internal controls to mitigate financial risks. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC)
• Ability to perform all Accounting Functions
• Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in Auditing
• Ability to handle Billing Functions
• Familiarity with Grant Accounting
• Experience in preparing Annual Budget
• Experience in managing Annual Operating Budget
• Skills in Budgeting
• Experience with "Raiser's Edge" software
