Description
Bridget Killen at Robert Half is looking for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor near Newport, OR . The selected candidate will be a central figure in managing and supervising accounting staff and tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of accounts payable and receivable, grants, and payroll. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance within our organization.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and guide the work of Accounting Staff, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Clerks, Grants, and Payroll.
• Manage the reconciliation of General Ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Act as a key point of contact with the bank, initiating and approving transfers, wires, and ACHs as needed.
• Assist in the calculation and posting of monthly Revenue entries to the General Ledger.
• Review program expenditure reports and prepare necessary adjusting entries.
• Participate in internal and external audits and program reviews, providing necessary financial data.
• Regularly maintain and reconcile the departmental petty cash fund, ensuring proper cash management.
• Provide technical assistance regarding expenditure compliance in accordance with Tribal policies, GAAP, and OMB regulations.
• Oversee regular and timely draws of funds from Grants and Contracts.
• Ensure timely completion of grant financial reports as required.

Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory.
• A comprehensive understanding of all Accounting Functions is essential.
• Must be adept at handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience in Auditing is required.
• The ability to manage Billing Functions efficiently is crucial.
• Knowledge of Fund Accounting is necessary.
• Familiarity with Federal Grant procedures is desirable.
• Proficiency in Grant Accounting is an added advantage.
