Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor in the retail industry, based in Torrance, California, 90501, United States. In this role, you will manage both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions. Your main tasks will include processing customer payments, coordinating with sales departments, and overseeing vendor invoice processing. Responsibilities: • Efficiently process customer credit applications and maintain their accuracy • Manage customer invoicing, collections, and credit risk management, ensuring all operations are accurate and timely • Act as a liaison between our sales department in California and our accounts receivable department in Mexico • Monitor AR aging reports and implement effective collection strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) • Collaborate with sales and finance departments to establish and enforce credit policies and manage customer accounts • Collaborate with the sales and production teams to resolve customer billing disputes • Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry regulations and proper revenue recognition • Supervise the Accounts Payable Specialist, ensuring vendor invoice processing and payments are timely • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to AR and AP Specialists to ensure strong performance and process efficiency • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting • Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory standards. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required • Familiarity with BlackLine software is preferred • Proficiency in the use of Concur software is expected • Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is necessary • Ability to handle all Accounting Functions is required • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is essential • Experience in overseeing Accounts Receivable (AR) is required • Proficiency in Auditing is necessary • Experience with Billing Functions is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
