Description We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. As an integral part of our team, this role involves overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to our financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Coordinate and oversee month and end-year accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP standards.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Utilize NetSuite for streamlining, automating, and improving financial business processes.
• Ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements and manage internal controls over accounting and financial procedures.
• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process.
• Provide guidance on financial reporting and operational matters.
• Manage cash receipts and treasury operations.
• Oversee the process of monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation. Requirements • Proficiency in auditing, with a proven track record of managing and conducting audits successfully.
• Extensive experience in using NetSuite for financial management and accounting operations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models.
• Knowledge and experience in managing the General Ledger, including maintaining and updating it regularly.
• Experience in overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Strong skills in financial reporting, with the ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports.
• Previous experience in an audit role, with a good understanding of internal and external audit processes.
• CPA qualification is required, demonstrating a high level of competence in accounting.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries.
• Proficiency in balance sheet account reconciliation, ensuring all accounts are accurately recorded and reconciled.
