The purpose of the Accounting Officer role involves preparing and reconciling SELF financial statements, including monthly reconciliation for various accounts to ensure the accuracy of data provided by SELF's loan servicers and other counterparties. The Accounting Officer also leads the cash transaction process, carefully reconciling daily cash transactions related to borrower payments and addressing any discrepancies with the loan servicer. Additionally, the accounting officer plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by preparing reports for compliance certificates and bond compliance, alongside reviewing and approving student loan disbursements. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong proficiency in financial software tools, including SWIFT, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI for reporting and analysis. **Minimum Qualifications** To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume/application clearly describes your experience in the areas listed below, and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held: + Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting sufficient to analyze and interpret fiscal data including the capability to enter and trace accounting transactions + Two (2) years experience reconciling bank accounts + One (1) year experience making journal entries and preparing financial statements + One (1) year experience supporting or running financial audits + Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet program **Preferred Qualifications** + Two (2) years experience working with student loan programs in a finance and/or accounting role including knowledge regarding; application of principal and interest payments, loan default processes, forbearances, and loan account reconciliation + One (1) year experience working with Crystal reports, PowerBI, or similar reporting solution + One (1) year working with taxable and/or tax-exempt bond financing + Experience with SWIFT, PeopleSoft or similar Enterprise Resource System + Given our commitment to fostering workplaces that are inclusive for employees from all backgrounds and diverse populations, OHE values people of diverse backgrounds.
