Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Job Description
Main responsibilities will be biweekly payroll alongside other six team members, managing payroll for approximately 250 employees. The Temp will assist with year-end reporting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and budget analysis/reporting. Under guidance, the role prepares budget/actual reporting to state agencies, prepares financial schedules to support year-end audit requirements, and assembles documentation for audits.
Hard Skills
+ 3-5 years of budget experience including reporting
+ Experience utilizing general ledger software and reporting packages
+ Familiar with general ledger chart of accounts and cost centers/project codes
+ Proficient in Excel including VLOOKUPs
+ Mid-level accounting experience
+ Payroll experience (3+ years)
+ Accounting experience (3+ years)
+ Experience with ERP - MIP is a plus
+ Non-profit experience is a plus
+ State reporting experience (DCF & DMHAS) is a plus
Soft Skills
+ Ability to take direction
+ Detail-oriented
+ Strong organizational skills

This is a contract position with a duration of 90 Day(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in New Britain, Connecticut.
Work Environment
Fully in office - 40 hours a week - standard office environment
